Dear Family and Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Latasha "Tasha" Johnson, who transitioned on Sunday, February 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Our dear Tasha was a beautiful soul whose life was rooted in loyalty, love, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was a dedicated mother and poured her life into her daughter, Addie. She was also the person you could call at any hour; as she would try to help anyone she could, in any way she could, never seeking recognition. Tasha had a joyful spirit and loved to dance, whether she was gracefully praise dancing at church or line dancing with family at gatherings, she carried a radiant energy that uplifted any room.
Then, nine years ago, after laying her father to rest, she began experiencing persistent back pain. During that time, and while faithfully serving as her grandmother’s dedicated caregiver, she put her own discomfort aside to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those around her. All the while, enduring her painful symptoms for years as they were misdiagnosed. Then, two years ago, we received the devastating news that she had Stage IV colon cancer. The weight of that diagnosis was indescribable, knowing that an earlier discovery may have given her more time with us.
Yet, even in the face of illness, Tasha remained who she had always been — selfless, compassionate, and strong. Tasha worked tirelessly to provide a loving and stable life for her precious daughter, Addie, and for the many children she embraced as her own. She leaves behind Addie, her mother, sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends who will forever feel the space her presence once filled.
As we prepare to honor her life with the dignity and grace she deserves, we are asking for the support of our family, friends, and all who loved Tasha to assist with the immediate expenses associated with her Homegoing Celebration.
We are deeply grateful for your prayers, your presence, and any support you are able to extend. Every contribution, offered in love, helps us ensure that Tasha is laid to rest in a manner that reflects the strength, beauty, and kindness she embodied throughout her life. We thank you for your love and support to help lighten the financial lift on the family during this difficult time.
